Rise Up Campaign Fundraiser Toolkit
To help you in your critically important role as a Rise Up Family and Community Fundraiser, we’ve created a toolkit of various communication suggestions and guidelines. The links below include email images, various social media posts, and more. Edits to imagery, taglines or content is not allowed.
The Rise Up campaign will run publicly from Friday, May 7th- Friday, May 14th. However, you can begin fundraising as early as April 28th and we hope you will so we have money in our thermometer when the campaign goes live to the rest of the public.
Step 1: GET STARTED
Set a goal and set up a page on the JustGiving platform to start fundraising. Please see below for instructions and a “how-to” video.
We suggest fundraisers to set a goal of at least $1,000. If you hit this goal, an anonymous donor will match your fundraising total- which means more for your project and youth in our city! However, any goal that you want to choose is fine!
Setting up your JustGiving page
It’s quick and easy to set up a Fundraising Page for Emerald Youth Foundation’s Rise Up campaign.
- Visit emeraldyouth.org/riseup
- Scroll down to the project section and click “project details” for the project you want to fundraise for.
- Click on the orange “start fundraising” button.
- Register your details to create a JustGiving account.
- Click “create your page”.
- You are ready to start fundraising!
Step 2: MAKE IT PERSONAL
People are more inspired to give if they know why you care. Your story about why you care is the most important part of your fundraising page. We will have a generic story prefilled for you, but we hope you’ll take a few minutes to share about why you’re “rising up” on behalf of youth in our city. As you write your story, consider answering these questions:
- How did you first get involved with Emerald Youth Foundation?
- What inspires you about Emerald Youth’s work and the Rise Up campaign?
- What difference do you think Emerald Youth makes in the heart of the city?
Example:
“I first became connected to Emerald Youth 10 years ago when I attended their Breakfast event. I’ve watched the organization grow over the years, and I’ve seen firsthand the difference their work makes in our inner-city. I’m passionate about seeing the next generation become strong leaders. I hope you’ll join me as a partner of Emerald Youth by praying or giving!”
Personalizing your JustGiving page
Your fundraising page has auto-generated details, but if you’d like to personalize your fundraising page…
- Select “edit your page”.
- Click on the “Edit” tab.
- Fundraising target- the fundraising target is preset to $1,000 because this is the amount that will garner a match, but you can make your target whatever you want it to be.
- The most impactful place to personalize is the “Your Story” section. Again, there is a prefilled story here, but the more you can share about why YOU are passionate about Emerald Youth, the more meaningful it will be to your family and friends. How did you first get involved with Emerald Youth Foundation?
Step 3: SPREAD THE WORD
You can share your campaign through email or social media directly from your fundraising page. You can also send a link to your fundraising page via email. We’ve also included images for download below if you’d like to customize your social media.

Dear Friend,
I’m proud to be participating as a Family and Community Fundraiser in Emerald Youth Foundation’s Rise Up Campaign. It’s important to me for the city I live in to be one where every child, in every neighborhood has the opportunity for a full life.
With increased violence, economic disparities, and young people falling further behind academically, this full life is not the current reality for many in Knoxville.
Emerald Youth has a 30-year history of serving young people in the heart of Knoxville, and I believe their work is a critical part of the solution to the challenges that exist in our inner-city.
I’m rising up so Emerald Youth can press on in service to our city’s most vulnerable families and youth.
My goal is to raise (insert your goal amount here), and I’d be honored to count on your support.
Will you rise up with me? Join me in prayer (link to prayer guide) and giving (insert link to your personal fundraising page).

We need champions to rise up to help ensure every child in every neighborhood has the opportunity for the full life Jesus spoke of in John 10:10. Will you give and join me in prayer? (insert link to your personal fundraising page)
